This is a handy little item for Christmas dining. It dates to the early 1980s.
It is a very heavy crystal glass plate warmer - or tealight candle holder. You would pop a little tea light candle in the center - and use the glassware as a simple candleholder - or you could choose to sit a little oven-proof dish on the top of the glass - and the candle would keep your plate etc hot and ready to serve.
It is a more unusual example in that it is more amorphic in shape - and not so geometric.
It is made by the German company, Glasdesign Georgshutte.
Dimensions - the height is 2 1/2 inches. The diameter at the widest point is 5 inches.
It is in an excellent vintage condition with no damages - as new!
