This is a very attractive antique Scottish Art Pottery vase.
The decoration is very pretty and reminiscent of some Wemyss ware items from about the same time.

This vase is 7 inches in height. The diameter at the rim is 3 1/4 inches. The diameter at the base is just over 4 inches. As you can see the base sweeps out and makes this vase very stable.
It is in excellent condition and looks fabulous on display. It has no chips or cracks - there is a little fine antique craquelure to the surface - which is commensurate with age and the type of glaze used on this pottery. Please look at my images on the listing in close-up view. There is also a little wobble to the rim - which occurred in the making.
It is amazing that these pieces have survived in this condition given that they are now about 140 years old - and it looks as if they could have been made only yesterday.
There is an old price sticker on this piece on the base - stating that the previous owner had purchased this for £148... phew! so my price appears to be indeed a very fair price. The decoration is spongeware - and this pattern is a rarer one.
The decoration is very pretty and comes from the Abbotsford range made in Kirkcaldy in Fife.
