John Jacobs is an American-born potter. He taught ceramics at Pasadena City College in California for 34 years after graduating with a BFA degree from San Francisco Art Institute and an MA from San Jose State University.

He now lives and works in Shetland where he and his wife Jane opened The Vidlin Pottery and Studio in 2007. John built his own high-fire gas kiln and makes his own clay and glazes. His beautiful rustic pots are wheel-thrown stoneware pieces - and the glazes are formulated and made in his studio. Each piece is unique and signed by the artist. The shape and the blue and olive green thick running glazes on this tactile pot is typical of his work.

Jacobs has shown nationally and internationally for over fifty years and his work has been published in books, catalogues and ceramics publications around the world.

I love the shape of this lovely piece of Scottish studio pottery - it is in excellent condition with no damage and looks fabulous on display.

Dimensions: the height of the pot is 6 inches. The aperture at the top is 2 1/2 in diameter and the diameter at the widest is 5 inches.

UK posting only. It will be sent to you with Royal Mail Recorded post - this will cost £4.95 and applied to your order at the checkout.
