This is a nice mid-century Whisky advertising jug.

It dates to the 1950s and was made by Wade.

It features the famous Johnnie Walker "Striding Man" motif - he appears four times on the jug - once in larger scale on the sides to the front and in smaller form on each side at the back towards the handle.

Nice little red-painted rim.. which you find on the old 50s issues.

This jug would have sat on a bar in a public house and contained water to water down your wee dram.

The thing that I like best about this jug is the strange shape - and how the handle is formed as an indented aperture through the sides of the jug.

Dimensions: Height is 5 1/2 inches. The base width is 4 1/2 inches square.

Good vintage condition with no staining or damages etc.
