This is a fine and very sought after etching by the American printmaker: Louis Conrad Rosenberg.

The artist was born in Portland, Oregon in 1890 and is best known for his etchings that he made of architecture and cityscapes in Europe and USA from the 1920s to the 1940s.

He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - and later enrolled at the Royal College of Art in London - here, he studied under Malcolm Osborne. He then moved to Rome where he attended the American Academy.

Rosenberg was a full member of the Philadelphia Society of Etchers, the Brooklyn Society of Etchers, the Chicago Society of Etchers and the Royal Society of Painters, Etchers and Engravers, London.

He is certainly an important artist and his work is of museum quality - and his work is held in the following collections: The National Gallery, Washington D.C., The Library of Congress, The Smithsonian American Art Museum, The Royal Academy, London, The Victoria and Albert Museum, The British Museum, The Royal Academy of Arts, Stockholm, The Brooklyn Museum, The New York Public Library, The Fine Art Museums of San Francisco, The Cleveland Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and The Harvard University Art Museums.

This is a fabulous etching (with rich drypoint inclusions) by him - almost photographic in its detail.

It shows a view of the old bridge at the Carrera del Darro, Granada in Spain. This view has hardly changed since the artist made this view in the 1920s.

It is pencil signed below the image by the artist, as photographed and also signed with initials and the date 1920 in the plate.

It is in excellent condition with no problems - it is currently framed and mounted - and could probably benefit from a new window mount - but it is good and clean enough for you to hang on your wall.

Dimensions: Frame size is 40.5 x 34 cm. Image size is 16.5 x 19.5 cm

Listed at a very fair price for such an exceptionally detailed and attractive work by Rosenberg. It is pencil signed below (as photographed) and inscribed with his initials in the plate: LCR XXV (dating this impression to 1925).
