This is a vintage 1950s Scottish stoneware jug, It is probably more of an item for specialist Buchan Pottery collectors.
My lovely jug was made by Buchan Pottery, which was based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed).
It is a lovely traditional Buchan shape with a more abstract pattern of flowers and criss-crosses contained within oval shapes - it has a semi-circular pattern acting as a border above the main pattern. The main body colour has a rich grey-blue shade with a tan or terracotta border at the base.
It is a very simpe and stylish design - great for both a modern interior and also in a country cottage on display in a dresser. Made of hard-wearing stoneware - it is hard to do any damage to this jug. It is a good functional piece for every day use.
The jug is 6 1/34 inches in height - and at the widest point it is 4 1/2 inches. From the spout to back of handle it is 5 inches.
It is in perfect condition with no damage.
Postage is to the UK only - this would be Royal Mail Recorded Small Size parcel - which will cost about £5.50 and will be applied to your order at check out.
