This is a decorative paperweight design by Alistair Macintosh. It is called Ribbons and it dates to 1989. The title is etched on the base.
The weight is ball-shaped and made of a heavy clear glass sphere. It has inside lots of swirls of thin lengths of ribbon glass. These are a little like coloured tagliatelli pasta strips - but are in black, white and ruby pink glass.
The paperweight measures 3 inches in diameter and with a height of 2 3/4 inches - so a nice large size. Coming from an unlimited edition - it has a lower price attached to it and it is a nice starter piece for your collection of Scottish paperweights.
It is in good vintage condition - with no chips, scratches or damages.
