This is a fabulous feature Italian Bitossi Lamp.
It is a tall lamp - the main body section being 14 inches. From base to the top of the bulb holder is 18 1 /2 inches.
The diameter of the lamp is 4 3/4 inches.
It is a very collectable ceramic desk lamp, in excellent vintage condition.
It comes with its original brass holder / on and off switch. The lamp takes a standard B22 bayonet-fitting light bulb.
The lamp is in good condition - with no chips or cracks.
The original cloth covering is still on the base - so it is hard for me to decide whether to pull this off to look for the signature. I have recently sold another with a more traditional signed Bitossi Rimini Blu pattern and finish - this was of near-identical shape and dimensions.
These larger-sized Bitossi lamps from the 1960s are now highly sought after.
My lamp is a lovely Rimini Blu shade. The base has subtle blue and blue-green glazes - and the pattern runs around vertically. The design consists of a series of lightly incised geometric shapes and stripes - with bands of different around the lamp all the way up.
The texture of the body is the typical rough / flecked finish that you find on original vintage Bitossi pieces.
The neck slopes and tapers in - with a smaller tube shape, and then on top is a large flat disk shape. This shape is typically used by Bitossi for their vintage lamps.
It is certainly a bit of a stunner as you can see in my photographs.
This listing is for the lamp only - it should be very simple to acquire a simply grey-blue or white drum lamp shade to complete the base.
