This is a pretty little vintage porcelain wall plaque. It was designed by the Danish ceramic artist, Bjorn Wiinblad (1918 - 2006) for Rosenthal Studio Line, Germany. It is a lovely piece of 1970s Danish design and was produced as a cheese board or cutting board. There is a little hole in the top if you wish to hang it on your wall when not in use - or to hang it up as a decorative item.
It comes from the Four Heavens series - each plate in the series represents the four winds coming from the West, East, North and South. This one is titled; EAST. The platter shows a black-and-white image of an exotic lady. She wears an Oriental trouser suit and a little Pagoda-shaped headdress Pagoda. She is doing a little dance and carries in each hand little temple bells. She is in a lush garden - and a beautiful bird is perched in the branches of a tree to the left-hand side.
Dimensions: The height is 10 inches and the width is 6 inches. The platter is in perfect condition with no damages - and is fully marked on the reverse.
UK Postage will be £5.50 for the Royal Mail Recorded and applied at the checkout.
