This is a pretty shallow pin dish made in the 1930s by the Scottish Glass company Monart.
It is a genuine early Monart piece - not a later Vasart or Strathearn piece.
I have five of these wee dishes on sale from my own collection (as shown in my last photograph).
This one is made of a pretty dark aqua green and blue colour which is darker towards the rim and contains sprinkles of gold aventurine. The glass has a mottled appearance with elongated dots of colour throughout.
It has a raised pontil mark on the base (as photographed) - this would have originally had a round Monart paper label - but sadly this has gone missing over the years.
It is a sweet little miniature example - measuring 3 3/4 inches in diameter and with a height of just over an inch.
It is a fine display piece and a great starter piece for a collection of Scottish glassware.
It is in great condition with no chips or cracks. There are some tiny scratches to the base as shown in my photographs. This is a good sign - and what you would expect on a piece of this age - it is commensurate with age and being picked up and put down for decades.
Listed at a fair price for a piece of Monart art glass about 90 years old.
