This is a lovely little vintage handbag or evening bag. It dates to about the 1940s.
It has a background of cream and coffee coloured threads and has lots of embroidered flowers all over - front and back. The pattern on each side is identical. It has a very pretty gold-tone clasp - with a pyramid shaped catch made of black polished agate at the top. I love the little Classical palmettes on the clasp area.
It is in good vintage condition with no tears and is clean. However, there is a little stain (not dirt) but perhaps from the bag having water spilled on it and marking the threads. I have photographed this - it is rather indistinct if you are using the bag - it is on the front on the beige colour stitched area and near the flowers. I have photographed this for you. I have substantially reduced my asking price to take this into consideration.
The interior of the bag is in warm honey-cream taffeta which is totally clean - with no signs of any use. It is as nice as the day that it was made. There are two little pocket sections on the inside - where you could perhaps store your bank card to use when out and about. There is inside its original mirror and a little comb (clean and never used).
It is certainly a fine example and looks like it has been stored away from the day that it was made and never used. Comes from a smoke-free house,
Dimensions of the bag body - is 7 inches in height including the clasp - the width is 9 inches. The drop including the handle is about 12 inches. It is a nice larger size and will allow you to pop your mobile phone, keys and some personal items inside.
It will be sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded Delivery - this will applied to your order at the check out.
