This is a very collectable brooch which was designed by Arno Malinowski for Georg Jensen. It comes from the Moonlight Collection and is called Midnight Blossom and dates to the 1960s.
Malinowski (1899 - 1976) was a successful designer who worked with the Georg Jensen Company from 1936 to 1944 and again from 1949 to 1965. He often featured detailed designs of animals in his work. He was a diverse artist - a sculptor, engraver, and designer, and won numerous awards including a silver medal at the Paris World Exhibition in 1925.
It takes the form of two confronted butterflies sitting amongst flowers. I love all the fine details.
It has a pin with a rollover C clasp to keep it nice and secure when worn.
It is signed on the rear (as photographed) 925 STERLING GJ DENMARK 283. It is a nice large size with a diameter of 5.5 cm. And looks simply stunning on a black cashmere sweater or little black dress.
My brooch is clean and shiny. It is in good vintage condition. There is a tiny ding (it looks like in the making) to the top edge - as you can see in my photographs. The price reflects this little issue. I will post it to you in a nice hinged black gift box, as photographed.
It will sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Special Next Day Delivery. This this will be applied to your order at the checkout. The brooch will be fully insured in transit to you.
