This is a delightful little nursery cutlery place setting for a child. It is made in miniature following the proportions and design of larger adult pieces. The wee set consists of the following items: The spoon is 4 inches in length. The spreading knife is 4 3/8 inches and the little fork is 3 3/4 inches.
They weight 64 grams in total.
Aren't they very cute? you could also use them as an adult for serving pickles and preserves - or spreading pates on little crackers. They also make a fine present to give as a Christening Gift for a new member of your family.
They are also great items for the collector of mid-century Scandinavian silverwares. There little pieces of flatware were made by George Jensen Silversmiths Ltd in Denmark - as marked on the back of each piece. The also have the London import hallmarks and the date letter for 1961.
The pattern is called Acorn (or Konge) which was originally designed for the company back in 1915 by Johan Rohde. It is one of Jensen's exclusive silver designs and remains a popular one still in production over 100 years later. Each piece in this little child's set has a stylised finial that is based on the form of a little acorn. There are no inscriptions on any of the pieces - and they are in good vintage condition. There are some very minor scratches to the silver - but these are not disfiguring in any way - and this set is now over 60 years old! Lovely vintage condition!
