This is a very simple vintage Murano Glass paperweight - and a very stylish minimalistic design.
It takes the form of a large glass globe with a round blue globule of glass in the centre. This blue core is surrounded by a thick casing of clear glass, which is saturated with lots of tiny controlled bubbles.
These controlled bubble designs are hard to date - but I am imaging that this fine large example dates to around the 1960s or 1970s. There is a remnant of an old (rubbed) silver foil label on the base, which I think was probably a Murano one.
It is in fine vintage condition: it has a little scratch to one side - not visible on display but only when you run your finger over it. I think taken this into account as well as its exceptional large size with my pricing. It weights a stonking 1.6 kg unpacked.
A very attractive and more minimalistic weight - nice size for display on Scandinavian or G-plan mid century modern furniture - and it has a diameter of about 4 inches, and it is also 4 inches in height.
