This is a vintage powder compact for a cake of pressed face powder.
It was made by a company called MASCOT. It dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s.
It has been used but it is in a like-new condition
The main body is gold-tone. The lid is decorated with a thin sliver of marblised lucite - which looks so lovely when caught in the light. This lucite cover is decorated with a wreath or circular garland of gold inset leaves.
The inside is designed to hold pressed powder. It has an old fair coloured (near new) cake of powder inside. The mirror in the lid is generally good condition with no nasty blemishes to the glass. The base has the Mascot mark - and is gold-toned engine turned metal. There is a little aperture in the base - so that you can pop in a wee pointed item to list out the powder inside.
The compact measures 7.5 cm (3 inches) square
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
My asking price reflects its age and its fine condition.
It will be posted to you with Royal Mail postage in the UK.
