This is a highly decorative large limited edition glass Christmas Plate.
It was designed in 1979 by the celebrated Danish artist Bjorn Wiinblad and made by Rosenthal Studio Line.
The plate shows the Holy Family who are all depicted in gold to the top of the plate - below they are adored by a pair of angels. The background is a rich and very vibrant abstract pattern.
The plate is a large one - measuring 11 1/2 inches square.
It is made from heavy clear glass and the design picked out in a glorious, dazzling palette of bright blues and gold highlights. It is signed to the front by Wiinblad and dated 79.
The plate comes complete with its original plastic backing cover - you can hang your plate on the wall - by the way of a little attached hook - with the clear side prominent - or you can slip it into the snug black backing section (as photographed) and hung with the darker background.
These vintage Wiinblad pieces are becoming hot collectables. Since the artist's death in 2006, there has been a renewed interest in his work - and a retrospective exhibition of his work has been held in Copenhagen in 2015.
This is a quality item - and indeed the original retail price for this plate would have been over £250.
Of course, my plate is in excellent condition with no damage. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
My plate has a good bit of weight to it - and it would have to be sent to you in the UK with Parcelforce 48 - this would cost £10. I have another plate from the series on offer in my store - both together would still cost £10 in postage. This will be applied at checkout.
