It sits on the raised gold setting on four geometric claws, as photographed. The main body is crystal-coloured clear glass which has a large air bubble in the center - and this is surrounded by a sprinkling of tiny controlled air bubbles.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe air bubble looks very white when seen from above and is backed by the rich blue ground.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is of course in excellent condition with no damages (there is a tiny little white speck inside the glass which has appeared there in the making - but you don't see this when on display - it is not damaged to the weight - just a wee tiny flaw). The opening catch is very unusual in that it raises up like a drawbridge to the sides to open and to close lowers and fits snug over the two clasp edges on each side of the bag.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe handle and chain is in excellent condition - all held in place on the main beaded textile by tiny wee vintage pins or pegs.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bag has its original dark blue lining which has a subtle printed purple pattern on it - and lined all around the edges with old gold brocade border.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are no damages, holes or losses to any of the beading on the main body section. On moving back to Nottinghamshire, Peter was employed by Nottinghamshire County Council helping to establish Rufford Craft Centre as a centre for excellence in the applied arts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePeter retired from his role at Rufford after working there for some 25 years and has recently moved to the beautiful Minster town of Southwell where he continues to paint and show his work.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eHis more recent works are stylistically very far removed from these early figurative sketches. Indeed, his recent paintings are more traditional works which often feature atmospheric Highland landscapes and scenes on the Isle of Skye. All his work continues to this day to show his interest in intricately rendered textured surfaces. They are highly sought after and fetch sums in the high hundreds when they come up for sale at his contemporary exhibitions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI have three early 1970s works by this listed artist in my \u003cspan\u003eIconic Edinburgh online \u003c\/span\u003e shop - they are all are rare early pen and ink drawings made by Dworok when he was living in Edinburgh in the 1970s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey are all certainly very rare survivors from this period, and in themselves are all very interesting studies.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach of these finely executed pen and ink studies all have a dreamlike, surrealist quality to them - and are skilled works full of minute attention to detail - you certainly would not get bored of these lovely original drawings - and indeed, you might never be completely sure of what the artist is illustrating in these strange studies.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis very busy drawing shows an owl in flight - his wings are fully extended and Dworok has taken great delight in picking out all the details of his magnificent feathers. It is night and a large abstract moon is seen in the sky behind the owl. He is out on the prowl.. and after the little field mouse - who hides away in the bottom left-hand corner. In the distance is a beautiful landscape - which I think might be a scene on Skye.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is certainly a drawing of the early 1970s - and the large circle and geometric shapes remind me very much of advertising, illustrations and more especially logos used in marketing campaigns by the iconic fashion brand, Biba. I have no doubt that for his background, Dworok was looking at their graphics which look back to Art Deco and Holywood for inspiration.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis drawing interestingly dates from just after the closure of the original Big Biba store in 1975.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis unusual drawing is framed and measures 31.5 x 22 cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is pen and black ink and signed along the bottom right-hand edge and dated 1976, as photographed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn good condition with no conservation issues - ready to hang on your wall. Any out of place white flashes etc on my photographs here are just reflections as I had to photograph the drawings through the glass - and it was a bit fiddly. The etching has previously been framed. I have removed it from its old frame to check the sheet.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is on nice thick paper and has not been laid down. There is a mark on the sheet where the old mount has been near to the margins of the image - and this could be covered by a new fresh acid-free window mount when getting re-framed. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are time-tone marks on the back of the sheet - which I have photographed for your inspection. There is also a slightly disfiguring brown spot on the margin upper left - which would still be obvious when a new window mount was applied, again this is photographed. I love the flower in the centre of the weight - this flower is made from five lilac and blue petals - with emerald green leaves below. Around the edge of this weight are 16 half-length white latticino canes, all very carefully placed.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI hope that my photographs do this lovely paperweight justice.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is in lovely condition with no chips or damages. Any white lights on my photographs are reflections from the glass and not on the weight. Each figure holds a cornucopia filled with bunches of grapes - and below are more fruiting vine and purple grapes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe model would have sat on the middle of a mantlepiece in a rustic cottage - the centre of the model has a little circular disk - which represents a clock - the numbers on the clock here are sadly slightly rubbed - but still legible. The hands are painted on - to give the time. It also has a fixed white plastic interior - which is in good clean condition - with no nasty discolouration and no smells etc.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eIt is certainly a very good quality vintage ice pail - measuring some 8 inches in height - with a diameter of the main body section of 7 1\/4 inches and handle to handle is 9 ½ inches.\u003c\/p\u003e \n\n\u003cp\u003eIt is in good vintage condition with no splits or nasty cracks to the wood - and looks just fabulous on display.  You wont be disappointed with it. A couple of teeny weeny dents to the edge rim - but very minor in nature and commensurate with age (check my photographs). It was built to provide a dry route for horses laden with packs on their backs to safely carry cargo across the damp and swampy ground of the river floodplain.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe bridge is built mainly with stone (including granite), but has been repaired with bricks in a number of places. It includes eleven arches, three of which belong to the causeway and eight to the bridge proper. A number of the arches are slightly pointed, as shown in this fine engraving.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAustin signed his engraved plates with his initials RSA in honour of the old master engravers who often signed their plates with a monogram. The lady wears an orange dress - and has a white apron on top which are tiny hand painted sprigs of flowers on it. The donkey's foreleg sticks out - and it is remarkable that it has survived intact with no damages or breaks. There are canes in each section between the wee spokes - these are mainly white and bright yellow in colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one is quite interesting as it is certainly not as the cane work placement is not quite as precise as other examples. It seems that the production of paperweights at the Vasart factory was initially seen as a sideline for the gift trade. And many of the Vasart weights at this time have a tendency to be a little on the cruder side. It seems that the assembly of the canes was undertaken by Ysart women who were given a free hand in the individual designs. It is said that the canes were often laid out by women working in a caravan parked next to the Shore Road glassworks - and later a larger shed was acquired for paperweight assembly. This is a particularly sensitive study by Alexander of a white dove seated on the ground. He is particularly renowned for his cockfight paintings, a series that began in the early 1950s.
