This is a pretty shallow pin dish made in the 1930s by the Scottish Glass company Monart.
It is a genuine early Monart piece - not a later Vasart or Strathearn piece.
I have five of these wee dishes on sale from my own collection (as shown in my last photograph).
This one is made of an attractive bright orange and sunshine yellow in the centre - with a few red dots - to the rim, it darkens and has a purple-brown coloured glass. It wee bowl contains sprinkles of gold aventurine. The glass has a mottled appearance with elongated dots of colour throughout.
It has a raised pontil mark / raised central foot on the base (as photographed) - this would have originally had a round Monart paper label - but sadly this has gone missing over the years.
It is a sweet little miniature example - measuring 4 1/4 inches in diameter and with a height 1 1/4 inches.
It is a fine display piece and a great starter piece for a collection of Scottish glassware.
It is in fine vintage condition. There are some tiny scratches to the base as shown in my photographs. This is a good sign - and what you would expect on a piece of this age - it is commensurate with age and being picked up and put down for decades.
Listed at a fair price for a piece of Monart art glass about 90 years old.
