This is a rare pottery vase with a rippling rim. It was made by Robert Heron & Sons.

Robert Methven Heron was the owner of the Fife Pottery in Kirkcaldy. He introduced a new pottery range called Wemyss Ware in 1882.

It is a fine piece of Scottish studio pottery - and you can clearly see the influence of Heron's earlier Wemyss Wares in this design.

It is a very fresh hand-painted bowl with the Langtoun Pottery, Kirkcaldy mark on the base, as photographed.

It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. The vase is generally clean inside – with some light and hardly visible craquelure to the glaze. No chips or crack. Some running to the clear glaze (in manufacture) on the interior of lid, as photographed.

Height: 5 ½ inches. The diameter of the rim is 3 ¾ inches. The diameter of base is 3 ½ inches.

Please see my other Heron pieces in my Iconic Edinburgh online  shop - these do not come up for sale that often.
