This is a cute little hand-painted piece of early 20th century Bough pottery.

It takes the form of a little toast rack - which is quite a rare piece for Bough - as you more often find them decorating plates or little bowls.

It is of miniature size and would hold three small slices of toast - if used - but it is probably more of a piece for display in a cabinet as part of your studio pottery collection.

The toast rack as pointed arches - with little green buttresses front and back - the base colour is peppermint green. Painted with spring flowers in lilac, pink and yellow at each end.

With a simple printed mark: BOUGH on the base.

Dimensions: Length is 4 inches. Width is 2 1/2 inches. The overall height is just over 2 inches.

Bough Pottery was founded by Elizabeth and Richard Amour in the 1920s. They specialized in decorating blanks - which they bought in from pottery companies in England and Scotland (many from Maling Pottery, Newcastle).

This small display piece is in good condition with no chips or cracks. Being a rarer Bough item - this is reflected in my asking price - which is indeed a fair one for this unusual antique piece.
