This is a lovely piece of vintage Scandinavian studio pottery.

Jens Harald Quistgaard ( 1919 – 2008) was a Danish sculptor and designer, known for his work with “Dansk Designs” where he was their chief designer from 1954 -1984.

Quistgaard’s first produced designs stoneware designs for the Danish Ceramics factory Kronjyden Nissen which had started up in 1937. One of his most celebrated early ceramic designs is “Flamestone”, which was released under the Dansk label and produced by ESLAU Denmark in the 1950s.

This stylish Flamestone design features a highly matte chocolate brown exterior, contrasting with a smooth white gloss glaze for the interior. It has ribbed decoration around the exterior and around the rim of the saucer.

It is marked to the base: IHQ Dansk / Danmark

This is a rather large lidded sugar bowl - which could you could use also as a small serving dish as it looks more like a miniature tureen, rather than a sugar bowl.

The lid has a diameter of just under 5 inches. From handle to handle it is about 6 1/2 inches.

The main body height is 2 inches and from the base to top of the knop is about 3 1/4 inches.

I am also listing a milk jug and some coffee cups - so handy if you have broken any pieces in your set.

In excellent condition with no damages.

SADLY, UK POSTING ONLY.
