It is a genuine 19th Century example dating to the 1850s. It is in excellent damage-free condition. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a spill vase - which you would have put on your mantlepiece or in the kitchen and you would have popped long tapers or spills to light lamps and fires etc into. The spill container takes the form of a tree stump to the left-hand side - and which is painted with a bright orange interior. The spread of spills would have resembled the branches of the tree when on display.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis a much harder to find and smaller example. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe spill vase shows two little figures who are standing on a raised bank and balance on a tree trunk. There are little pretty bits of lilac colour bocage applied around the figure. On the base to the front is a little deer. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eI have three of these in my online store - the only difference seems to be in the different colours of the figure's costume. The price quote here is for one figure only. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis one has a striped dress on the lady - and the gentleman has pink coloured breeches. Overall height is 6 1\/2 inches - with a width of 4 1\/4 inches and a depth of about 1 3\/4 inches.
