Angular Globe Glass Shade","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a rare survivor. It is a heavy stepped Art Deco geometric brass table lamp and ball-shaped angular glass shade. It looks a little like a star.  It dates to the 1930s. It is a certainly a tall and most elegant period lamp. It has a good bit of weight to it and is about 1.8 kg unpacked.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe base square in shape and has an angular up-stand. The base of the up-stand is surrounded by plinths that look rather like skyscrapers rising upwards. It is in working condition and has recently been re-wired and is ready to put straight on display. I have had to give the lamp a replacement bulb holder as that it can be earthed to conform with modern safety standards.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lamp can be switched off at a wall but it also has a little on-off press stud on the base, as photographed.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe lamp is in good antique condition with no damages or nasty issues with the metalwork. It is just so stylish and will look so dramatic in a period Art Deco house. You will have to look long and hard to find another quite like it. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shade has a golden opaque sheen to the glass. The surface of the shade has a satin finish to the glass. It is very futuristic in form. The glass lamp sits in the brass pan shape or gallery holder. It is held in place by tightening the finger screws. You loosen the screws and lift off the shade if you need to replace the bulb inside. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is more of a feature light to highlight a room corner and cast a softer light on your interior than as a reading lamp etc. It takes a modern B22 bayonet light bulb. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: The overall height with shade is 21 inches. The height from base to top of brass gallery is 15 inches. The base is 4 inches square. The shade has a diameter of 6 3\/4 inches. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere is a long length of electric flex with new antique style black cloth-covered cable: 2 1\/2 metres in length. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is already to just plug in and use.
