It is contained in a little white celluloid egg. The surface of this novelty egg is very fine and has the feel and delicacy of a real egg. The fragrance is called Mischief and it was made by Savilles. It dates to the 1930s.   \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe egg is made up of a top and base section which come apart to reveal a little black glass perfume bottle inside. Despite the bottle being in there for nearly 100 years now, there is still a strong perfume fragrance when you open the lid. The top of the lid on the exterior is decorated with an image of a naughty little putti. He wears a top hat and seems to be flying. The has a quiver for his arrows and has one in his bow all ready to fire. The base has a flat polished section to enable you to rest the egg on a table top without it rolling about. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eInside the egg is the little miniature glass bottle of Mischief perfume. It rests in a little light blue thin card packaging to stop it rattling about in the egg. I am not sure if there is any perfume still in the bottle - as the glass is almost black. But you do get a good smell from it. The bottle is in good condition with no damages. The outer egg container is also in good condition with no damages. The egg measures 7 x 5 cm, The egg snaps shut with a nice click noise, but be careful opening and closing the egg as it has a bit of age to it. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe really rare thing about this little perfume novelty is that is comes in its original card outer retail box. The lid of the box is loose but could be glued back down into the inner lid section. The original corrugated card to hold the egg secure in the box is still inside. The decoration on the box is very cute and echoes the design on the top of the egg itself. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOn the box, we have the little cupid being followed by ducklings on the lid. It sadly has a crease on it (long ago). I have photographed this for you. On the side the putti is in a boat playing with the naughty ducklings. The other side shows the duckling are not happy as he shoots an arrow at the egg. The base shows a caricature of one wee duck running off with the putti's topper... all being mischievous. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003e'Mischief' perfume was available from 1935 so my little egg must date to just after them. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is probably more of an item for the specialist collector of vintage perfume bottles or early plastic novelties.  Again, I have never seen another with original cardboard retail box and with the bottle inside.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUK Postage will be with Royal Mail Tracked, Small Parcel.
