The design was inspired by the blue skies and white-crested waves of Cornwall.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese lidded dishes are harder to find pieces of Cornishware tableware or serving dishes.  They were initially retailed as a covered dish and each has an old Green Shield mark on the base, as photographed.  This mark was used \u003cspan\u003eon Cornishware pieces from 1930's -1960's. So my dishes and domed lids are at least 65 years old now. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey are in remarkable condition given their age. They have no chips or cracks and is a lovely clean example. One of the dishes has a little flaw on the base on the rim section it sits on. This looks like a tiny chip but it was done in the making and was glazed over at the pottery. But given how rare these lidded bowls are, it is not a big issue. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are a nice size and shape and from the side they looks a little like a flying saucers. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: The height is about 4 1\/4 inches.
