Designed by Arne Jon Jutrem. 7 3/4 inches

Highly Collectable Norwegian 1950s Greenland Series Bowl.

It is one of a group of collectable pieces of vintage Scandinavian Hadleland glass that I currently have in my online store (photographed as a group here so that you can see the differences in sizes etc).

I have previously sold two similar pieces.

This is a fine piece of Scandinavian Art Glass - it is hand-blown and made of a fine emerald green glass - it contains masses of bubble inclusions and pronounced pontil mark to the base, as photographed.

I have two matching ones of the same size in my store just now, as photographed here. Just so there is no confusion. This listing is for the one measuring 7 3/4 inches in diameter.

It is signed: Hadeland near the pontil, as photographed.

Diameter: 7 3/4 inches - and height is 1 1/4 inches; in excellent condition. Unpacked it is 700 grams in weight.

This rare centrepiece was designed for Hadeland Glass by Arne Jon Jutrem. It is part of a series is called Greenland - and it won a gold medal in the Triennale di Milano in 1954.

Hadeland Glass was first established in 1762 - making it the oldest continuously operating manufacturing company in Norway. The company started out making bottles, apothecary jars, and fishing floats - but by the early 20th century it was producing fine tableware and art glass in the Scandinavian modern style.

The designer of the Greenland series was a celebrated Norwegian painter, designer and Professor of Aesthetics. He was employed by Hadeland from 1950 - 1962 and later from 1988 to 1994 as its Art Manager, Arne Jon Jutrem.

These vintage Greenland pieces are highly sought after - and my shallow bowl is listed at a very fair price.

It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.

Probably a piece of the more specialist glass collector. Would look good on display on a Scandi-modern coffee table or bureau.

Due to the size and weight of this large glass platter, it would have to be sent to you with Parcelforce24. This would be applied to your order at the checkout.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0271/1902/6240/files/1950s-nowegian-hadeland-glass-greenland-series-medium-shallow-bowl-or-platter-designed-by-arne-jon-jutrem-7-3-4-inches-scandinavian-717.webp?v=1787641385
https://www.iconicedinburgh.co.uk/products/1950s-nowegian-hadeland-glass-greenland-series-medium-shallow-bowl-platter-arne-jon-jutrem-1
