It dates to the late 1950s or early 1960s.  It is unused. It is in a like-new condition - so no hygiene issues with it.  The ASB underneath the Mascot logo stands for \u003cspan\u003eA. S.  Brown \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u0026amp; Co. (Manufacturing) Ltd - who made these compacts on behalf of Mascot. C\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIt is a more unusual one as the lid is inset with a fine porcelain plaque - which is decorated with an image of a single stem red rose. There is a fine gold-tone band around the plaque - and the rim has a black enamel band. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe mirror inside the lid is clean and without marks or spots on the surface.  The inside is designed to hold a cake of pressed powder. It has its original gauze sifter and the original paper Mascot \"care\" label.  The lid still has an original sticker which reads Genuine Porcelain Plaque. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe base has an engine-turned pattern with the word Mascot in the centre. The compact measures just under 7.5 cm (3 inches) \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eI have taken lots of images for your inspection.
