This is a lovely vintage solid silver 1960s compact for pressed powder. .
It is in good condition with a clean mirror.
It is a lovely simple design with an intricate engine-turned textured pattern on the top and bottom of the compact.
It has no monograms or scratches to the surface. There are no major dents - a couple of minor teeny weeny tings - but not noticeable unless you are looking at the surface of the compact from the side in bright light.
Inside it is just in lovely vintage condition - with crystal clear mirror in the lid (no spotting or any blemishes).
A beautiful silver powder compact which given that it is now over 60 years old - is in excellent condition. The hinge is secure and opens and closes easily - with no sticking or the lid flapping open.
It is hallmarked on the base (as photographed) in the reservoir where the powder would sit - has original sifter (wee tear to the edge commensurate with age). A nice solid silver hallmarked compact - hardly used and now just short of 60 years old.
The diameter is 7 cm (2 3/4 inches). With impressed letters HCD - for the maker Henry Clifford Davis Ltd.
The total weight (unpacked) is 65 grams.
Very fair price for this lovely piece of vintage silver - great as a special gift for a 25th birthday present or silver wedding gift - or just for yourself as you like the finer things in life... lol!
