It must date to around the late 1950s or 1960s.    \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIt has a heavy matt black painted metal base (original paintwork) - with a gold textured cover on top with a little white plastic on and off button. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eFrom the base issues the upstand of the lamp - this is made of conjoined rings \/ metal sections (as photographed) and is bendable so you can point the shade in a variety of positions. This is called a Gooseneck fitment as it is often angled to resemble the shape of the bird's neck. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe shade is a textured matt lack metal one with cut-away decorations. The colour of the shade is the original colour and it has a little decorative gold bobble on the end. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThe shade is in good condition with no dents, dings or nasty scratches to the paint surface. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIt is in working condition, but as with anything electrical, it should be checked over by an electrician before use. \u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003e\u003cbr data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIt has a nice length of flex and three-prong plug for UK electric sockets.
