Orrefors Karolina by Gunnar Cyren","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a collectable set of six little vintage Swedish matching glasses.  They are all very delicate in structure and designed for sipping and tasting little spirits or liqueurs. Probably for little tasters drinks that you would serve as aperitifs.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey were designed by the Swedish glass artist Gunnar Cyren (1931 - 2013). Cyren \u003cspan\u003ewas hired at Orrefors glassworks in 1959, and became head of design ten years later. Over the years Gunnar Cyrén has participated in numerous exhibitions in Sweden and abroad and received the Swedish royal scholarship in 1962, the Lunning Prize in 1966 and the Prince Eugen Medal in 1988.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese glasses were first made at Orrefors in the 1960s but proved to be a popular design and were in production up until start of the 21st century. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey are hand-blown and have a simple criss-cross design on the bowls. There is a decorative faceted stem and plain base.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey are much sought after this is reflected in my asking price - they are certainly some of the finest of vintage Swedish glassware designs. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThey measure just under 5 inches in height. The diameter of the rim is 1 7\/8 inches and the diameter of the foot is also 1 7\/8 inches. They are all in perfect condition with no damages.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe glasses have a certain delicacy to them - we will pack very carefully.
