Boy Riding a Reindeer with Mountain Landscape in the Distance","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a rather stunning long squat vase by the Swedish glass designer, Sven Palmqvist (1906 - 1984). This shape of vase was one that Palmqvist used on a regular basis when he was at Orrefors. It would then be decorated and wheel engraved with a variety of different subjects. These often date to the early 1960s.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe model number of my vase is 2634. It is signed on the base: Orrefors. Palmqvist 2634. EP (for the glass engraver Erich Pohl). The vase is 6 inches in height and has a length of 10 1\/2 inches. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is beautifully engraved by Pohl with an image on the front section of the vase showing a little boy riding on the back of a reindeer. Palmqvist has created a bit of an optical illusion in his design by having a montainous ice covered landscape on the back section of the vase. When you look at the images from the front it has an almost 3-dimensional effect. It has been difficult to photograph this vase - so please allow for this in the images that I have posted on this listing.  The wall of the glass are very thick and there is a lot of weight to the vase. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe vase is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or clouding. It will look stunning on display against a darker background- so that all the details of the engravings are seen to full effect. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePostage will be with Royal Mail Tracked (Medium) Parcel.
