It has an adjustable stand. My lamp has an an arm or angled upstand made of plastic which has been made to look like pale beech wood. The arm is in perfect condition with no damages. The arm section has finger turning wing nuts to allow you to angle the stand in different directions. You have also love the shade up and down to different angles. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe bulb holder is black plastic as is the flex - these are original to the lamp. The lamp is sold as working - but perhaps just get an electrican to PAT check it for you.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe shade with its straight sides is more unusual than the usual bell shape shades you find on Maclamps - but it is original to the lamp. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDiameter of the base is 5 1\/4 inches. The shade height 4 3\/4 inches. And diameter is rim is also 4 3\/4 inches. Maximum height fully extended is 25 inches. It take a modern bayonet bulb. I would recommend that you use a led one - so that is does not generate heat. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eCondition: thee is one teeny weeny dent to the shade. This is not visible when the lamp is on display and  it is hidden by the shadow of the arm. There are no dents of the base. There are the tiniest very light scuffs to the copperised finish of the lamp - but again commensurate with age and use. The lamp is now about  60 years old and indeed is wearing better for its age than I am!  I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection - these form part of my descriiption.
