It has a rounded rim a the top and also has subtle ribbing in the main body section - this ribbing in the glass is called \"optic\". It is a rich Ruby red colour - and is case in a layer of clear glass - as you can see on the foot.  It is hand-blown and has a polished pontil mark on the base, as photographed. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThis vase was first illustrated in the 1964 Whitefriars Catalogue. It is certainly very minimalistic and modern in style - and shows Baxter's interest in Scandinavian glass.
