The Tapio Wirkkala Avena vase was first produced for the Finnish glass company Iittala in 1968 - 1970. It remained in production until 1989. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis Brutalist vase is textured and made to look like it is made from melting ice.  The surface is textured and the irergular form is covered all over with random organic shapes. It ha\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003es an older Iitala label on it and with the authentic Wirrkala signature on the base. This would imply that the vase dates to the early 1970s.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIt is quite stunning being a larger sized example with crisp detailing.  It is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The rim measures 4 1\/4 x 3 1\/2 inches.
