It is in excellent condition with no damage. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a small miniature size weight - and beautifully made. It contains a central sugar pink and rose pink lampwork flower - and has faceted polished circular viewing panels around the side. The base is heavily faceted with a \"strawberry-cut\" base pattern. So there is nothing engraved on the base. This weight is the first time that Perthshire used this grid base.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMany Perthshire paperweights exhibit the clever use of cut facets (as on this wee one) which act as ‘windows’ to enhance the appearance of the content of the globes.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt has a P Cane in the center of the flower. It dates from 1969 to 1973. These early Perthshire weights by Stuart Drysdale are highly collectable Scottish paperweights and this is reflected in my asking price. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt also comes with its original box with the iconic Perthshire Paperweights logo in gold gilt on the lid - and the Crieff Certificate of Issue. It comes from a limited edition of 600 - only 563 were actually made. A yellow version appears on page 23 of the book \"The Complete Guide to Perthshire Paperweights\". \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDimensions: The diameter is just under 2 1\/4 inches. The height is 1 1\/2 inches. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHISTORY.\u003c\/strong\u003e The Perthshire Paperweight Company was founded in 1968 by Stuart Drysdale. He employed the best staff in his new company that he had formerly managed at Strathearn Glass (earlier Vasart). Drysdale acquired an old school in Crieff, a few miles to the west of Perth, fitted it out and relocated all his workforce there. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt took just two years for the company to become recognised as one of the leading paperweight manufacturers, and their initial premises proved far too small. They subsequently moved to a new site in the town where production could be ramped up to a more commercially viable scale.
