Abstract Designs in Orange & Dark Blue Shades. 10 1/2 inches

On offer is a nice larger vintage Poole Delphis pottery bowl.

The Delphis range was heavily influenced by modern design and was introduced by the manager of Poole's 'making department' potter Guy Sydenham in conjunction with company designer, Robert Jefferson. Delphis wares are often bright and jazzy in colour and design.

Each design is made by using a black wax resist with freely drawn lines and then filled with vibrantly coloured glazes.

The decoration on this attractive dark orange-coloured ground is very painterly in feel. It has a tangerine orange base shade with applied patches of dark blue and greens on the top.

The bowl is a nice large size with a diameter of 10 ½ inches. Height is about 3 ½ inches. It is good for serving crisps in or crackers for dips, or just for display on your coffee table for fruit or bureau.

Fully marked to the back, as photographed. In good condition with no chips or cracks. The glaze on the upper section of the bowl is very shiny. Apologies for some of the white reflections you might see in my images.

Due to its size and weight - I will have to send it as a medium size parcel with the Royal Mail Tracked. This will be applied to your order at checkout.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0271/1902/6240/files/1970s-poole-delphis-fruit-bowl-abstract-designs-in-orange-dark-blue-shades-10-1-2-inches-british-ceramics-388.webp?v=1793361065
https://www.iconicedinburgh.co.uk/products/1970s-poole-delphis-fruit-bowl-abstract-designs-orange-dark-blue-shades
