Star of Roses by Colin Terris","description":"\u003cdiv\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThis is a fine large vintage Whitefriars \"Star of Roses\" limited edition paperweight.  It was issued in a limited edition of only 100 weights (it closed at 83) and was designed by Colin Terris. It has the Whitefriars Cane in the centre and the date 1982.  When issued in the 1980s - it was retailed for £150. It is now very hard to source.  \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eIt has a double overlay of white and petrol blue glass. The weight has which has six oval viewing windows or facets. There is another circular viewing facet on the top.  Inside the weight - the centre has a large clear floating mushroom shape. The mushroom contains a star-shaped decoration and a wee rosette in the centre. They look like they are floating in the middle of the weight. The canes are mostly red, white and blue.  The base of the weight has been polished and then engraved with a decorative eight-point star.       \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThis is certainly a fine and collectable double overlay Whitefriars paperweight.
