It was certainly not "made yesterday" and it is a fine piece.

It comes from the Benin area of Nigeria in Africa where similar metal figures that been made for centuries.

This one is a nice size for domestic display and measures 8 1/4 inches in height. This is a heavy piece, as you might with a piece made of solid bronze. It has an unpacked weight of just over 1kg.

It is in good vintage condition. It might have stood once on a more substantial base. It would be easy to pop a new base on this fine model for display. She does stand upright on his own as is, but has a wee bit of a wobble factor.
