This is a very pretty antique figurine of a lady holding a large flat basket in front of her, which also serves as a little dish. She stands on a rock circular base. A beautifully rendered tree stump is behind the lady and assists her in holding up the basket.
A lovely blanc de chine colour - with is embellished with little gold highlights - and pastel colours on the lady's face - she wears a faint pink blush dress.
This fine figurine was modelled by the celebrated modeller for Worcester, James Hadley (1837 - 1903).
She has an impressed patent or model number on the base and dates to around 1902.
She is a much rarer model - and inspired by pretty Kate Greenaway designs.
Model No. 963.
A larger size which looks fabulous on display. Overall height: 8 inches. Width 6 3/4 inches.
As you can see she is beautifully modelled and painted.
These Edwardian figurines, inspired by Greenaway illustrations are now hard to find and much sought after - so listed at a fair piece.
In perfect antique condition with no damages.
Due to her delicacy - this model is going to have to be restricted to UK posting only.
