Each with Little Carrying Handles

These are adorable and rather rare little Art Deco Novelty Candlesticks. They are an original pair taking the form of a little Dutch Boy and Dutch Girl.

They date to the 1930s and are decorated with vibrant colours all hand-painted onto each figure. They are marked to the base: Foreign.

Each of them carries a little milk pail on their shoulders. These act as the scone where you place your candle.

They are interesting in that they have little handles at the back, so that you can carry a lit candle about and up to bed. They might have been intended as little "night lights" in a child's bedroom (probably not something which would be approved by health and safety today).

The little boy is 17 cm in height and the girl is slightly taller at 17.5 cm.

In excellent vintage condition with no chips or cracks, there is a little extremely fine hairline on the base of the boy. You can hardly see it and it is not visible on display.

Postage will be a Royal Mail Tracked (Small Parcel) service. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0271/1902/6240/files/1930s-art-deco-candlesticks-in-the-form-of-a-dutch-boy-and-girl-each-with-little-carrying-handles-european-ceramics-970.webp?v=1793228946
https://www.iconicedinburgh.co.uk/products/art-deco-1930s-candlesticks-with-carry-handles-dutch-boy-and-girl
