Brass Hinged Lid","description":"\u003cp\u003eThis is a beautiful Art Nouveau \/ Jugendstil Inkwell made in Austrian by Kralik Glass.  It dates to around 1905.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSimilar Kralik inkwells with three buttressed corners and trailing bands are on display in the Passau Museum in Germany.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis inkwell has a green iridescent body with bright lime green ribbon decorations and it has the usual brass hinged lid. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is certainly a nice larger size for an inkwell - the diameter of the base being about 11.5 cm. The height including the brass lid is about 6.5 cm. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn good condition with no chips or cracks to the main body section. Sadly, the glass inkwell on the inside is cracked with a little loss to the glass. It should be easy enough to find a new plain glass replacement that you could stick onto the rim - or just leave as is - as it does not interfere with the aesthetics of the inkwell when on display. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf this was perfect - I would be listing at £325. But with the issue with the glass ink liner - then I am reducing it to only £225. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese beautiful Nouveau inkwells are now hard to source and are items for the specialist collector.
