This is a quirky beauty accessory dating to the late 1990s.
It is a facial beauty mask called Rejuvenique. The gadget was promoted by the TV Dynasty star, Linda Evans (Crystal Carrington). It is an American invention.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. It is complete with all original leaflets, instructions, gels and original packaging. It is lovely and clean and has no hygiene issues.
The mask is worn on the face and it is claimed to tone up your face - and leave your skin feeling fresh and more youthful - like Linda!
The pulse control box is powered by a 9-volt battery. The gist is that you get the control panel for the mask and connect the pink coiled cable (supplied) to the mask and place the mask it over your face.
The interior has 26 contact points to which you carefully apply the toning gel and then switch on at the control. You can set the best "pulsation" level from the panel. The pulses are supposed to firm and tone your skin so you look like a Holywood star.
The mask at the time promoted the interest in microcurrent therapy where the application of low voltage currents stimulate collagen and elastin production in your skin. The treatment (it was claimed!) would show results over a prolonged period of time.
However, there seems to have been higher expectations about the effectiveness of the treatment - and there was some mention of users experiencing slight discomfort when wearing it.
However, it is certainly a very interesting collectable vintage beauty aid now 25 years old. As mentioned, it comes complete with all in the contents. It is probably an item more for the collector of whacky devices - and perhaps not something for regular use. There are many demonstrations of how to use the mask if you search online.
They are becoming harder items to find and quite collectable. Not so many of these flesh-tone examples are found in the UK, and they certainly seem to have been more popular in the States.
I have listed it at a fair price - it is certainly a very odd product!
