This is a little job lot of different coloured Emalox vintage 1950s Norwegian bowls.
The design is by Bjørn Engø (1920-1981) and was only produced in the 1950s.
Engø was originally a furniture designer - but in the 1950s he started designing bowls and plates for Emalox at Ryen in Oslo. They were of basic minimalistic form and made with bright fresh colours. They proved to be very popular and much sought after.
They are part of a little selection of Emalox items from my own collection that I am listing in my shop for sale.
This is a little group of Norwegian enamel bowls that I have owned for a number of years. We have on offer here one lot: a large purple bowl with lug handles at each side (£35), a circular bowl in a paler purple (£20), a smaller bowl in blue (£15), and a tiny miniature flat bowl or dish in tangerine (£10). The grand total is £80.
The dimensions of each piece are as follows: The large purple one is from handle to handle: 8 inches and the height is roughy 2 1/4 inches. The smaller purple circular bowl is 5 inches in diameter with a height of 2 inches. The blue one is 4 inches in diameter with 1 1/2 inches in height. The tiny orange one is 2 3/4 inches with a height of of 3/8 inch.
I have owned these for many years - and never used them. So they are in a very fine vintage condition.
The three smaller pieces have original labels - the large purple one has an engraved signature on the base, as photographed.
They would cost £4.95 to post to you in the UK - this would be applied at checkout.
I would cap postage at any multiple purchases of my Emalox enamels at £4.95 to you in the UK.
Fast comms and delivery and some lovely items - thanks we’ll be back!
