This is a lovely piece of vintage mid-century Cornish pottery.
It was from a range designed by Bill and Maggie Fisher at Celtic Pottery, Newlyn in Cornwall.
It is the popular Phoenix bird design - and the wee bowl is hand-decorated with a strange bird creature - who is ascending and re-born from a fire. There are strange large black painted spots of the base - as well as the remnants of an old paper label (now completely illegible).
This is a classic piece of mid-century British art pottery, and it is always a popular design with collectors.
