This is a fabulous little sewing accessory - or perhaps just a quirky vintage collectable for someone who collects little poodle related items.
The little doggie is actually a vintage 1950s pin cushion with a little drab olive green pad on this back - where you would pop in your dressmaking pins (or indeed hatpins) when you are sewing.
He is made of cast metal - and finished with gold gilt colour. He is beautifully made with lots of attention to detail - and has a nice bit of weight to him. A quality item and very handy as well.
He has two little white pearls for his eyes.
The best thing about Mr Poodle is that he moves - and his head and tail nods up and down when moved, rather as you find in little nodding dogs that you see in the back of cars.
He is marked with his maker's mark on the base: FLORENZA.
As you can see from all my photographs, the little vintage pin cushion is in lovely condition with no losses to his gilding - the original cushion pad contained within his back is still present.
Dimensions: about 3 1/2 inches in length and about 1 1/4 inches in height.
