He was a leading American artist famed for his fine art screenprints called Serigraphs.      \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHe was a native of Boston with an extensive background in the graphic arts. He studied at the Massachusetts School of Art and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. In 1952 he was chosen to participate in a program called Art in Industry, so he moved to Louisville, Kentucky where he worked for Reynold’s Metals designing packaging and illustrating company brochures.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIn the 1950s, he designed the cover for a Boston Arts Festival brochure, exhibited at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and had his first One Man Exhibition at the DeCordova and Dana Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts. In the late 50s, he taught silk screening at the University of Louisville Art Center.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eHis work is held by many prestigious American Museums - and he has a long history of exhibiting in galleries in the States.   \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eThis is a fine early silkscreen print by him and the panoramic format is typical of Chistensen's works in the 1950s and 60s. Stylistically his graphic works of this time are reminiscent of those of the British artist, John Piper. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eIt is a fine print showing a collection of vintage bottles - and this would look good in a period bar room, kitchen, or hanging beside your cocktail cabinet. It is printed with the artist's name and the date 1956. This is printed vertically alongside one of the bottles. He seems to have been fond of signing his works in this manner. It is a rather rare work and I have been unable to find another impression of this image. It has no edition number,  but given its early date, I would expect that not many were originally released. Hence my asking price for this most elusive larger early work by Christensen. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eCONDITION: It is printed in vibrant colours and inks on thin paper. This has been laid down onto card and then framed.
