These would have been for popping into the cage of an exotic bird and which you might either fill with seed or water.

The glass is blown and hollow with a form open spout for the bird to get at the contents through - at the top is a simple decoration - there is a hollow blown ball finial and simple frilled clear glass ring collar.

These were obviously prone to getting lost or broken over the last few hundred years - and the ones that I have listed in my shop date to the early 19th century.

In excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The interior has a little patch of old water staining to it - very minor and not seen if you fill with water or bird seed.

Height is 5 inches and the diameter is 2 1/4 inches. The width of the spout section is 3 3/4 inches.

Other similar antique birdfeeders can be seen in the book: "British Glass 1800-1915" by Charles R Hajdamach, on page 380 (plate 347).

Fair price for these rare survivors.
