Attributed to Liesel Spornhayer for Schlossberg

This is a stunning large jug which can also be used as a vase. It dates to the 1950s or early 1960s and is West German in origin.

The jug was made by for Schlossberg Ceramics and probably designed by Liesel Spornhauer. The pottery was were founded in 1946 and ceased production in 1975. There best years were in the mid to late 50s and this coincided with Liesel Spornhauer's appointment in 1954. She had previously worked for Dumler & Breiden.

My large pitcher or vase has vertical matt black stripes. The rest of the vase is a glossy white glaze.

It is a bit of a showstopper (as you can see with Robert holding it). It is 11 inches in height with a diameter of 8 inches. From handle to spout it is 7 inches. A bit of a stonker. It weights. just over 1.7 kg in weight.

There is a light number visible on the base, but it seems to have filled in with the white glaze to makes it a little harder to read.

It is certainly very stylish and looks great on display in a mid-century or modernist interior.

My lovely pot will be very carefully packed and sent to you with Royal Mail Tracked Medium Parcel.
