Above, it a brass bulb holder with an old toggle on \/ off switch. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe base is solid-filled made of cast iron This gives a lot of weight and substance to the lamp - it certainly is not going to topple over - even if you put a large shade on it. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is sold in working condition. It is nice and clean. The brass is shiny. It is definitely a showstopper in a more antique Classically themed interior setting. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is a very large example with a height of 19 3\/4 inches.
