This is a very pretty and highly decorative old biscuit tin.
It is round in shape and decorated all over with little decorative Art Nouveau cartouches - in the Japanese style.
The external decoration is in pretty good condition - and all the colours remain nice and bright.
There are no nasty dents or dings to the tin - and no disfiguring scratches.
There is a little raised handle on the top - the gilding has been rubbed off the handle over many years and it has a natural tin patina.
The tin is generally in good condition inside. It has been cleaned by my before listing.
The base tells you that the maker of the tin was a Scottish Biscuit Manufacturer called Gray Dunn.
The tin is not dated - but on stylistic grounds etc - I would suggest that it might be the late 1930s or 1940s in date. But certainly has a fair old bit of age to it.
Dimensions: Diameter is 6 3/4 inches and the height is about 4 inches.
